Job Overview

Mile High Early Learning is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing mental health consultation and direct services support to our staff, children, and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide early childhood mental health consultation and direct services support to MHEL staff, children, and families.
  • Develop and implement plans to support the mental health needs of children and families.
  • Conduct observations and assessments of individual children as assigned or referred for consultation.
  • Meet with families to consult on child and family needs and create or follow-up on plans to support these needs.
  • Conduct standardized developmental, behavioral, and/or social-emotional screens and assessments for individual children as assigned or referred for consultation.
  • Assist MHD team members in providing child and family referral and follow-up to community services.
  • Participate in regular reflective supervision with MHDD, Program Director and clinical supervisor (if necessary).
  • Contribute to federal, state, and local reporting requirements.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree required, preferably in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years direct experience in a mental health setting providing prevention services and/or mental health therapy to children and families.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with computer-based software including Word, Excel, and Windows and the ability to learn in-house computer software.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills, ability to relate effectively and tactfully with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written communications.
  • Ability to work individually and as a team member.
  • Clearance of CBI/Central Registry check and post-employment physical.
  • Reliable vehicle for transportation, valid driver's license, and current State of Colorado automobile insurance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical license highly desirable.
  • Certification as Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) preferred.
  • Bilingual/bicultural English-Spanish strongly preferred.
