We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Loan Processor to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. As a Loan Processor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our student accounts receivable process.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service to borrowers, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Verify and process deferment, forbearance, and loan cancellation forms, adhering to strict deadlines and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and send written correspondence, including past-due loan emails and default resolution letters, to borrowers and other stakeholders.
- Assist with Institutional Loan borrower questions and special projects, providing accurate and timely information and support.
- Process returned loan payments and maintain accurate records of all transactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including data entry, record-keeping, and reporting.
- Bachelor's degree and three years of administrative experience, or high school graduation or equivalent with five years of clerical experience, including one year of experience at the administrative assistant level.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with borrowers, colleagues, and other stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as experience with financial software and systems.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish.
- Bachelor's degree in business-related field.
- Experience working with Federal student loans.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with financial software and systems.
- Experience working in an office setting, with a focus on customer service and communication.
- May work in a standard office environment, with occasional exposure to noise and distractions.
- Repetitive use of a keyboard and mouse, with occasional standing and walking.
- Use of manual dexterity, with occasional lifting and carrying of light objects.
