Loan Officer Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Loan Officer to join our team at New American Funding. As a Loan Officer, you will be responsible for building relationships with customers, analyzing their financial situations, and providing personalized loan solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build rapport with customers and leverage relationships to meet their needs and exceed their expectations.
  • Analyze customers' financial situations and provide the appropriate loan solution by advising them on the best loan product.
  • Perform lock extensions, pipeline management, and other daily duties to ensure smooth loan processing.
  • Excel in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multitask and follow up with multiple customers and work on multiple files daily.
  • Accept multiple live, qualified inbound leads daily and lock loans at point of sale.
  • Collect and analyze customers' documentation for submission to underwriters for pre-qualification of purchase clients.
  • Structure and price loans accurately.

Requirements:

  • Some experience and current product knowledge of FHA, VA, Conventional, and other loan programs.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge and skills to learn federal and state guidelines, rules, and regulations such as TRID.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Education/Experience:

  • Current working knowledge of the mortgage loan process.
  • 0-2 years' experience as a Loan Processor, Jr. Processor, Loan Setup Clerk, Loan Officer Assistant, Sales, or equivalent.
  • NMLS licensing preferred, but not required in some branches.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
