Reports To: Logistics Manager
Location: Lombard, Illinois
Salary: 50K
The Procurement and Logistics Associate plays a crucial role in engaging with suppliers and managing the receipt and reconciliation of materials across various project sites. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality, necessitating discretion and diplomacy. The Associate will receive ongoing training and support from the Logistics Manager and other team members to ensure a comprehensive understanding of our operations. Due to the sensitive nature of our work, candidates must qualify for and maintain security clearance. This role allows for remote work on Fridays, making it an excellent opportunity for recent graduates eager to start a career in logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with vendors and warehouses; comfortable making phone calls to expedite orders and resolve material discrepancies.
- Detail-oriented in assisting with the receipt and reconciliation of materials on a line-by-line basis.
- Demonstrate strong follow-up skills.
- Transfer data accurately into Excel and Smartsheet.
- Assist with shipping packages via FedEx and DHL.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Procurement/Logistics Specialist.
Experience, Education, and Skills:
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree required, or at least two years of relevant experience as an Administrative Assistant.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while working independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Willingness to learn and adhere to Procurement and Logistics policies and procedures.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and research.
- Problem-solving skills with an inquisitive nature to address issues proactively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly strong skills in Excel and Word.
- Exceptional customer service skills, treating all stakeholders as valued customers.
- High level of professionalism and discretion required.
- Strong business writing and editing capabilities.
- Organizational skills in time management, filing, and computer usage.
- Ability to evaluate relevant information and suggest improvements to work processes.
Key Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
- Team-oriented mindset, viewing challenges as opportunities for growth and learning.
- Capability to secure and maintain the necessary security clearance.
