Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Front Desk Specialist to join our team at Southern Colorado Retina MSO, LLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience, from check-in to check-out.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greets patients promptly and provides necessary paperwork, instructions, and directions to complete the intake process.
  • Assists patients with the discharge process, ensuring all necessary documentation is signed and follow-up appointments or scheduled calls are completed.
  • Obtains and accurately records demographic, financial, and referral information, as well as required signatures for HIPAA and other necessary documents.
  • Schedules patients with specific practitioners and utilizes the computer system software for data entry and generating reports as needed.
  • Performs various clerical duties, including photocopying, scanning, preparing labels, faxing, filing, retrieving, and sorting mail.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required; medical front office experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to manage challenging patients in a cheerful manner.
  • General knowledge of insurance companies and agreements with health providers.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and use scheduling software, internet, email, and other job-related software products.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions

This role operates in a professional office environment with moderate exposure to ambient or loud noises. The employee may be required to stand or sit for extended periods, bend at the waist, and use hands and fingers to handle and file papers or operate equipment.

The employee may also be required to lift 10 to 25 pounds unassisted. The employee must be willing to submit to mandatory random drug screening and accept temporary assignments and travel to other office locations as needed.
