Job Description

The Arc of Carroll County is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Residential Advisor to join our team. As a Residential Advisor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their pursuit of a fulfilling life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support and supervision to residents, ensuring their well-being and development.
  • Implement daily management and operation of the home, adhering to state regulations and The Arc policies.
  • Coordinate with staff members to ensure the acquisition of daily living skills and the overall nutritional needs of residents are met.
  • Record keeping duties, including daily logs, time sheets, and incident reports.
  • Transportation of residents to scheduled activities or appointments.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of an Associate's degree in a human services-related field or 60 credit hours with a focus on human services.
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in software applications.
  • Completion of CPR, First Aid, and other required training programs.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • A clean drug screen and criminal record check.

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to lift, manipulate, and exert force in excess of 100 pounds occasionally.
  • The ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing, bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing.
