Patient Support Advocate, Central Fill Mail Order Specialist

The Patient Support Advocate is a key member of the University Hospitals team, responsible for providing exceptional support to patients and healthcare professionals. This role requires a strong understanding of pharmacy and manufacturer assistance programs, insurance coverage, and available community and national resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and up-to-date information to patients and clinicians regarding assistance programs, insurance eligibility, and government subsidies.
- Work closely with pharmacy staff, clinic staff, and clinical pharmacist specialists to obtain clinical and financial information for available assistance programs.
- Manage and resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Utilize internal systems and commercial vendor software to track patient eligibility, prescriptions, and program enrollment.
- Interact with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in a courteous and professional manner.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Working knowledge of insurance benefits, medical records, and pharmacy operations.
- Strong technical skills and abilities in planning, solution structure, assessment, analysis, and client relationship management.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) certification.
