Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Central Sterile Processing Manager to join our team at University Hospitals. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the decontamination, sterilization, storage, and distribution of patient care supplies and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directly oversee staff members and ensure their work output is satisfactory and their concerns are resolved.
  • Manage the department's inventory control practices and allocate resources effectively.
  • Develop and manage a sizable budget.
  • Monitor, update, and in-service department personnel on the CSIQ system.
  • Educate nursing and clinical personnel on cleaning, packaging, and sterilization of reusable instrumentation and patient care equipment.
  • Initiate and maintain positive relationships with staff, management, patients, co-workers, and customers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 8+ years' experience in related field, including supervisory experience.
  • 5+ years of successful and progressive experience in inventory management, sterile processing, instrument management, and/or case cart make-up.
  • Supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership ability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with good analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Notable client service, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use PCs, Microsoft Office suite, and general office equipment.
  • Working knowledge of all equipment in Central Sterile Processing.
Additional Licenses and Certifications
  • Must possess at least one of the following certifications through HSPA or CBSPD.
  • Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Tech (CSPDT).
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST).
