Building Materials Sales Representative

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Building Materials Sales Representative to join our team. With 90 years of industry experience, Monsma Marketing Corporation is a family-owned building materials wholesale distributor with locations in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Denver, Colorado.

Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year

Job Description:

This role involves building relationships with customers, driving sales growth, and promoting our high-quality building materials to retailers, contractors, and installers. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of products, their benefits, and installation processes to support customer needs.

  • Develop product knowledge through on-the-job training and continuous learning opportunities
  • Establish and grow sales relationships with building material retailers daily between Cheyenne, WY, and Colorado Springs, CO
  • Build and maintain relationships with architects, contractors, and installers to drive product usage and demand
  • Anticipate, respond to, and follow up on all existing client needs
  • Conduct job site training sessions, including hands-on product demonstrations
  • Represent the company at trade shows and dealer events using a show trailer to promote products
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 3 years of experience in product sales or a related field, preferably in the building products or construction industry
  • A Bachelor's Degree or comparable work experience
  • The ability to travel daily or as required to visit customers and provide support for sales activities, training sessions, and product demonstrations
  • Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to manage and meet sales goals without direct supervision
  • Sound business judgment, strong decision-making, and superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience with power tools and conducting hands-on demonstrations
  • A clear driving record with eligibility to operate a company vehicle
  • The ability to thrive in a team environment and be a positive team player
  • Technology and computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
