Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our OB/GYN department at MidMichigan Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Triage patient calls and schedule urgent/emergent add-ons, ensuring timely and efficient care.
  • Support and direct patients for consults and/or testing, as well as insurance pre-certification and documentation.
  • Perform routine pre-examination procedures, including vital signs, and update patient records with accurate and objective data.
  • Assist providers with examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and safe experience for patients.
  • Prepare and clean patient areas, set up equipment, and dispose of contaminated supplies and sterilize medical instruments.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Medical Assistant program through an accredited organization preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire or transfer.
  • Medical Assistant certification (RMA, CMA, or equivalent) required.
Working Conditions

This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, and regular and predictable attendance. You will be exposed to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, trauma, grief, and death. You must be able to move freely about the facility and perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
