POSITION SUMMARY: This role involves maintaining a visible presence at store entrances and exits to deter theft and fraud while ensuring a safe environment for both associates and customers. The Associate engages with customers through eye contact, smiles, and friendly greetings, effectively discouraging theft by demonstrating a commanding presence in company-issued attire and adhering to the package inspection policy. The role also includes walking the sales floor to identify potential theft indicators, as directed by store leadership, and collaborating with management to ensure compliance with loss prevention strategies and minimize operational shortages. Embracing company values and a protective mindset towards our merchandise is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensuring a Safe Environment: Understand that safety is paramount and practice safe behaviors in all tasks while assisting management in maintaining a secure environment for associates and customers.
  • Providing Excellent Customer Service: Greet customers prominently, maintain eye contact, smile, and respond to inquiries in a courteous manner.
  • Building Relationships: Treat all customers and associates with respect, demonstrating professionalism and courtesy at all times.
  • Monitoring for Theft: Observe entrances, exits, and the sales floor for suspicious behavior and communicate findings to management.
  • Minimizing Operational Shortages: Educate associates on effective processes to reduce operational losses and validate proper checkout procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree is preferred.
  • Previous retail supervisory experience or similar training is preferred.
  • One year of loss prevention or security training is preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong communication skills.
  • Proven ability to resolve conflicts effectively and maintain positive relationships with the store team.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving throughout the store.
  • Must be able to lift objects over 25 lbs. and perform tasks that require bending, stooping, or crouching.
