GENERAL OVERVIEW:

The Area Supervisor plays a vital role within the Store Leadership team, overseeing a designated section of the store while also managing overall store operations during their shift as the Manager on Duty. This position entails responsibilities such as opening and closing the store, supervising team members, and ensuring a welcoming shopping atmosphere. The Area Supervisor is tasked with maintaining optimal merchandise presentation and upholding cleanliness standards throughout the store.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensuring Safety and Security:

  • Recognizes that safety is paramount and consistently engages in safe practices.
  • Maintains vigilance on the sales floor to foster a secure shopping environment, promptly addressing any unsafe conditions.
  • Oversees the security of the premises, including managing access points and conducting regular checks on security systems.
  • Removes hazards and ensures clear access to emergency exits.
  • Responsible for customer safety, including accident prevention and emergency response protocols.
  • Conducts scheduled tests of fire alarm systems and responds to alarms as necessary.

Customer Engagement:

  • Treats all customers, associates, and leaders with dignity and respect.
  • Exhibits professionalism and friendliness, recognizing associates through company acknowledgment programs.

Brand Representation:

  • Embodies and promotes the company brand at all times.
  • Maintains a professional appearance in line with company dress standards and ensures compliance among associates.
  • Ensures cleanliness and organization throughout the store.

Merchandising Duties:

  • Ensures that recovery, sizing, and markdowns are executed according to company standards through effective training and task delegation.
  • Responsible for receiving merchandise deliveries and processing items promptly.
  • Maintains the organization of stockrooms and ensures that back-stock is secured and processed in accordance with company policy.
  • Oversees the merchandising of the department, ensuring compliance with presentation guidelines.

Loss Prevention:

  • Understands and adheres to loss prevention protocols, maintaining a strong customer service presence on the sales floor.
  • Demonstrates integrity and confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Conducts inspections and ensures compliance with company best practices.

Front End Management:

  • Ensures that associates adhere to company standards at the front end, managing customer flow effectively.
  • Trains associates on cash register operations and customer service standards.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Oversees cash handling procedures and ensures compliance with company policies.
  • Manages payroll administration and scheduling for associates.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Previous experience in customer service and supervisory roles is preferred.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the store for extended periods. Must be able to lift and carry items weighing more than 25 lbs. as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversees retail associates and stockroom leads where applicable.
