Role Summary:
We are looking for qualified candidates to fill the role of Chemical Analysis Laboratory Specialist. The ideal applicant will demonstrate a strong adherence to established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and possess a keen attention to detail and precision. Collaboration is key in our professional environment, thus effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct sample dissolutions utilizing acid and fusion techniques.
- Perform instrumental analysis on inorganic samples using Flame AA, IC, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, Leco instruments, and titration methods.
- Execute wet chemical analyses, including leaching, solvent extraction, ion exchange, gravimetric analyses, ISE analysis, among others.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization.
- Oversee instrument maintenance and calibration.
- Prepare and verify standards and calibrations.
- Engage in initial data verification and review processes.
- Assist in constructing bench and pilot scale systems.
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess a foundational understanding of chemistry principles to safely perform high-accuracy chemical analyses. Adherence to operational protocols and good laboratory practices is critical. Preference will be given to individuals with relevant experience in inorganic analytical chemistry laboratories. This is a full-time role, requiring 40+ hours per week, with potential for overtime.
Work Schedule:
- Standard 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday.
- Flexible scheduling options available.
- Occasional long shifts, night work, and weekend hours may be necessary.
Basic Qualifications:
- A 2-4 year degree in chemistry or a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent industry experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
Compensation: Hourly wage range is $21-$25/hr.
