Job Opportunity: Child Autism Specialist

At Soar Autism Center, we are dedicated to providing a comprehensive range of services that enhance the lives of children with autism and their families. Our interdisciplinary approach emphasizes early engagement, holistic support, and tailored developmental-behavioral programs that cater to the unique needs of each child and their family. We adhere to evidence-based, play-centered methods grounded in the Early Start Denver Model.

As a Child Autism Specialist, you will have the opportunity to contribute directly to the developmental growth of young children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role collaborates with a team of experts, including Board-Certified Behavior Analysts, Speech Therapists, and Occupational Therapists. This is an entry-level position that does not require prior certification; we provide comprehensive training for this role.

This position is ideal for:

  • Recent college graduates seeking to launch their career: Psychology graduates, special education graduates, child development graduates, teaching degree holders, or similar
  • Individuals with childcare experience and a passion for working with children: Child care providers, paraprofessionals, nannies, babysitters, preschool teachers, day care workers, Montessori teachers or assistants, tutors, substitute teachers, childcare volunteers, Sunday School teachers, or similar
  • Frontline healthcare workers looking for a change: Home health aides, behavioral health techs, psychiatric aides, child life specialists, or others
  • Encore career workers: individuals seeking a fresh start in a mission-driven organization supporting children

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one developmental and behavioral support to children aged 2-6 in a clinic environment, guided by science-backed, naturalistic therapeutic methods
  • Implement intervention plans developed by expert clinicians in behavior analysis, speech, and occupational therapy
  • Collaborate with the child's healthcare professionals to provide consistent, high-quality care

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children aged 2-6, ideally in a professional capacity
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Computer and tablet literacy
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality are essential, as well as the ability to meet specific physical demands of the job
  • Preference for college graduates or individuals pursuing a college degree
