Job Summary

Safety Ambassadors will patrol the city on bike as a deterrent to unwanted behavior and activity, while providing information, assistance, and directions to downtown workers, residents, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a visible presence to deter unwanted activity through uniformed patrols.
  • Observe and report any unwanted behaviors or criminal activity to local authorities.
  • Address low-level quality of life crimes, such as aggressive panhandling, non-aggressive panhandling, loitering, and disruptive behavior.
  • Provide hospitality and customer service to pedestrians, offering directions, information, and recommendations.
  • Build relationships with district businesses to share information and make professional contacts.
  • Develop and submit written incident reports and property condition reports.
Requirements
  • Must have the physical capacity to ride a bike or traverse continuously during an eight-hour shift.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language to create basic reports.
