About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer I to join our team at Penumbra. As a key member of our manufacturing engineering group, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative manufacturing solutions to improve production processes and quality systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop manufacturing processes and systems to improve efficiency and quality
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production floor issues and implement process improvements
  • Develop and maintain product and process documentation
  • Monitor process and equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Design and implement new fixturing and equipment on the production line
  • Test processes, equipment, and raw materials
  • Perform process validations and author protocols for testing
  • Develop specifications for products, processes, and equipment
  • Develop, characterize, and optimize processes using statistical techniques
  • Coordinate with suppliers and external resources to develop and implement process improvement plans
  • Participate in project planning and scheduling
  • Train assemblers, quality control, and technicians on processes, equipment, and documentation
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Proven work history of growing within an organization and showing initiative
  • Proven track record of solving problems creatively
  • Medical device experience strongly preferred
  • Proven knowledge of FDA regulations, lean manufacturing, and/or materials and manufacturing processes preferred
