Position Overview:
This role is pivotal in steering the establishment and upkeep of a precise and efficient work measurement framework.

The focus is on the standardization of processes and methodologies, ensuring that effective productivity metrics are set through time and frequency evaluations.

The individual will verify that Bills of Materials (BOMs) and standard costs accurately reflect the necessary materials, labor, and scrap components.

(S)he will assess workforce utilization, work center configurations, material flows, process flows, and production demands to identify the most effective use of labor, materials, and equipment.

Additionally, they will ensure continuity across all significant process paths throughout manufacturing and distribution while maintaining precise labor standards through Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and job aids.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the evaluation, recommendation, and execution of improvements to current workflows and processes to enhance throughput, minimize costs, and boost accuracy and consistency in manufacturing and distribution.
  • Conduct time studies in industrial engineering and translate findings into labor standard objectives for operations.
  • Revise and uphold standard work across all primary process paths within peer operations, including data collection and best practice training methods to aid in the development of SOPs.
  • Establish, maintain, and regularly update computer-based productivity expectations for labor standards.
  • Collaborate with operations to determine suitable machine speeds alongside associated scrap and waste targets, reflecting these in BOMs and standard costs.
  • Develop tracking and reporting methods for warehouse and manufacturing key performance indicators, including productivity KPIs and planning tools to optimize labor use and monitor waste.
  • Perform labor audits and time studies to validate and ensure the reasonableness and integrity of all implemented labor standards.
  • Educate operations personnel on work sampling techniques and engineered standards development, including how to thoroughly investigate issues or complaints and assess their validity.
  • Assist in evaluating and revising all work methods and workflows for all functions to ensure ergonomic correctness.
  • Support the analysis and cost justification for capital project requests as necessary.
  • Work with Inventory Control to uphold a high level of inventory accuracy.
  • Engage in Quality and Safety Committees to influence respective metrics through standardization.
  • Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams on standardization opportunities.
  • Occasional travel may be required to promote standardization and best practices across the supply chain.
  • Facilitate lean events and audit compliance for Lean / 5S methodologies.
  • Conduct capacity analysis for the existing plant.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or a related discipline; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Industrial Engineering, with a background in the automotive industry being a plus.
  • Practical experience in creating and implementing engineered labor standards in manufacturing and warehousing environments.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical analysis capabilities, including skills in statistical analysis and simulation.
  • Experience in process design, work measurement, productivity enhancement, cost reduction, Kaizen, 5S, and project implementation is essential.
  • Ability to identify problems and determine root causes for prompt action, temporary countermeasures, and long-term sustainable solutions.
  • Proven ability to plan, manage, and drive projects to completion while accepting accountability for project progress and quality.
  • Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SQL, with experience in work measurement methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with WMS is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as required.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.

The target salary range for this position is $90,000-120,000, with actual base salary depending on various factors such as qualifications, relevant experience, unique skills, education level, certifications, and geographic location.
