About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Assistant Director, Transportation Systems Development Construction. This role will play a critical part in the planning, management, and execution of transportation systems development construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Transportation Systems Development Construction team, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including the Deputy Director, Transportation Systems Development, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Develop and implement project management strategies, including risk management, safety standards, and procedures.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies, to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members, including Construction Managers, Quality Managers, and Council Authorized Representatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in transportation systems development construction, including 5 years of experience in a management or supervisory role.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects, including experience with project management software, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including FTA, federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer's License or Project Management Professional Certification.
  • Experience working in a multi-agency project office or environment.
  • Public sector management experience.
