Institutional Support Director

American Ballet Theatre is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Institutional Support Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Development department, you will play a critical role in securing funding from private and corporate foundations, government agencies, and other institutional donors.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive grant writing and management strategy to secure funding from institutional donors.
- Manage a portfolio of private and corporate foundation and government funders, including researching and identifying new funding opportunities.
- Write compelling grant proposals, reports, and letters to institutional funders, ensuring timely submission and follow-up.
- Steward institutional donors through regular communication, event invitations, and updates on ABT's activities and impact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, education, and artistic departments, to obtain necessary materials and data for proposals and reports.
- Develop and manage program/project budgets in collaboration with finance and operations teams.
- Represent ABT at institutional donor events and meetings, ensuring strong relationships and a positive reputation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of institutional donor interactions, including grant agreements, meeting notes, and correspondence.
- Act as a thought partner to the Senior Director, Development, to create new strategies and initiatives to retain current funders and build a robust prospect pipeline.
- Research and identify new sources of institutional support, presenting findings and recommendations to the Senior Director, Development.
- Bachelor's degree and minimum of 3-4 years of experience in not-for-profit fundraising and development, with a minimum of 1-2 years of grant-writing experience.
- Excellent verbal and writing skills, with a strong capacity for detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work collegially across departments and across the organization, with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Committed to and enthusiastic about the mission of American Ballet Theatre.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with proficiency in Raiser's Edge highly desirable.
American Ballet Theatre offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $75,000 per year, as well as a dynamic and supportive work environment.
