Job Title: Direct Support Professional I

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Direct Support Professional I to join our team at Institute for Community Living. As a Direct Support Professional I, you will play a vital role in providing support and services to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

Job Summary:

The Direct Support Professional I will provide a variety of levels of support and services to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, including encouraging, guiding, teaching, and advocating for their needs. This role requires a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide support and services to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, including personal care, household tasks, and community integration.
  • Assist individuals with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide transportation to and from appointments and activities.
  • Assist individuals with meal preparation and cooking.
  • Provide support and guidance to individuals with behavioral challenges.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement individualized plans.
  • Document and report on individual progress and challenges.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and move individuals as needed.
