Job Title: Direct Support Professional

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to fill the role of Direct Support Professional. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to elderly or disabled individuals in their daily lives.

The Direct Support Professional is responsible for assisting individuals with disabilities to lead a self-directed life and contribute to their community. This includes providing support with activities of daily living, encouraging community inclusion, and advocating for the individual's needs and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Communicate ongoing care results and updates to relevant parties, ensuring seamless coordination of care
  • Collaborate with clients and families to identify and implement best care opportunities, promoting independence and autonomy
  • Maintain a safe and comfortable living environment, adhering to established health and safety protocols
  • Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of individuals, reporting any concerns or incidents to management
  • Implement and adhere to established treatment plans, working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care
  • Provide transportation for clients as needed, utilizing agency vehicles and adhering to safety guidelines
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection policies, respecting the privacy of clients and their families

Qualifications:

  • Proof of vaccination against infectious diseases
  • Previous experience in personal care or related fields, with a strong understanding of disability support principles
  • Compassionate and caring demeanor, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and their families, fostering strong relationships and trust
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document care plans and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals
  • High School diploma or equivalent, with a strong foundation in healthcare or related fields
  • Prefer First Aid, CPR, AMAP, and SCIP certifications or aptitude, with a commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Ability to safely assist individuals with varying weights and mobility needs, adhering to established lifting and transfer protocols
  • Demonstrated organizational, written, and verbal skills, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Must be at least 18 years old, with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
