Job Summary

InsideHigherEd is seeking a highly experienced and accomplished Head Men's Basketball Coach to lead our NCAA DII Men's basketball program. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing day-to-day oversight of administrative and operational functions, as well as coaching and instruction, recruiting, and player development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide coaching and instruction to student-athletes, focusing on individual and team development.
  • Recruit and select talented student-athletes who align with the program's goals and values.
  • Develop and implement effective practice activities and game strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Athletics to ensure compliance with NCAA regulations and CIAA policies.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records and reports, including player eligibility and academic progress.
  • Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students to promote a positive and inclusive team culture.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as sports management or education.
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a head or associate coach at the collegiate level.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office, Teams, Excel, and Word.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Three years of experience working with college-age athletes.
  • Three years of experience with NCAA Division II and CIAA policies.
  • Three years of experience in recruiting collegiate athletes at the NCAA/Collegiate level.
