Catholic Medical Center is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Clinical Laboratory Assistant II to join our team. As a Clinical Laboratory Assistant II, you will play a critical role in managing various tasks related to specimen collection and processing.
Key Responsibilities:- Receive and process physician orders for blood tests, ensuring timely specimen collection and processing, and proper documentation.
- Maintain equipment and automation in specimen processing, performing routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure optimal functioning.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on received specimens to ensure patient safety and accurate test results, maintaining compliance with established protocols.
- Respond promptly and accurately to add-on requests, researching and locating samples as needed, and delivering them for testing.
- Employ automation or manual processes to prepare, centrifuge, and aliquot laboratory specimens accurately, maintaining specimen integrity and identification.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- A minimum of one-year full-time equivalent laboratory clinical support and phlebotomy experience.
- Effective communication and empathy with patients, colleagues, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Proactive approach in identifying and solving problems, contributing to smooth operations in specimen processing.
- Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in work.
