Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant II to join our team at Dartmouth Health. As a Medical Assistant II, you will play a vital role in providing clinical support to our patients and healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take and record vital signs, administer injections, and perform simple diagnostic tests
  • Collect specimens, clean equipment, and maintain examination rooms
  • Greets and checks in patients, notifies providers, and prepares patient rooms and equipment for procedures
  • Assists with patient examinations and treatments, recognizes and treats emergency patients as a priority
  • Handles patient situations over the phone, schedules appointments and procedures with medical professionals
  • Registers new patients, establishes medical records, and prepares patient billings
  • Assists patients with filling out insurance and other forms, supplies authorized information to third-party payors
  • Collects and processes routine laboratory specimens, operates and maintains clinical equipment
  • Maintains aseptic technique, including sterilization, disinfection, and disposal of contaminated material
  • Cares for supplies and equipment, performs other duties as required or assigned
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program required
  • Previous experience in office or outpatient ambulatory care setting strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work well as a member of a team
  • Computer skills strongly preferred
  • Must be willing and able to participate in evening, weekend, and holiday coverage according to needs of the department
  • Required Licensure/Certifications: American Association Medical Assistants (AAMA) certified, CMA designation, or equivalent
