Clinical Support Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant II to join our team at Dartmouth Health. As a Medical Assistant II, you will play a vital role in providing clinical support to our patients and healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Greets and checks in patients, prepares them for procedures and exams, and notifies the appropriate provider.
- Takes and records vital signs, informs the provider of patient vital signs and concerns, and recognizes and treats emergency patients as a priority.
- Assists with patient examinations and treatments, handles patient situations over the phone, and schedules appointments and procedures with medical professionals.
- Supplies authorized information upon request by third-party payors, instructs patients in preparation for specific procedures, and collects and processes routine laboratory specimens.
- Operates and maintains clinical equipment, maintains and uses aseptic technique, and cares for supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
- Previous experience in an office or outpatient ambulatory care setting strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work well as a member of a team.
- Computer skills strongly preferred, and the ability to participate in evening, weekend, and holiday coverage according to the needs of the department.
Required Licensure/Certifications
- American Association Medical Assistants (AAMA) certified.
- CMA designation OR American Medical Technologists (AMT) registered RMA designation OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant plus 12-month D-H apprenticeship program CCMA designation.
- Current BLS certification required.
