Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant II to join our team in adult and pediatric dermatology. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical support to our healthcare providers, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greets and checks in patients, prepares patient rooms and equipment for procedures and exams.
  • Takes and records vital signs, informs providers of patient vital signs and concerns.
  • Recognizes and treats emergency patients as a priority, assists with patient examinations and treatments.
  • Handles patient situations over the phone, schedules appointments and procedures with medical professionals.
  • Registers new patients and establishes medical records.
  • Prepares patient billings and assists with insurance and other forms.
  • Supplies authorized information upon request by third-party payors.
  • Instructs patients in preparation for specific procedures.
  • Collects and processes routine laboratory specimens.
  • Operates and maintains clinical equipment.
  • Maintains aseptic technique, including sterilization, disinfection, and disposal of contaminated material.
  • Cleans, wraps, and autoclaves instruments, cares for supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
  • Previous experience in office or outpatient ambulatory care setting strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team.
  • Computer skills strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to participate in evening, weekend, and holiday coverage according to department needs.
Required Licensure/Certifications
  • American Association Medical Assistants (AAMA) certified.
  • CMA designation or American Medical Technologists (AMT) registered – RMA designation or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant plus 12-month D-H apprenticeship program – CCMA designation.
  • Current BLS certification required.
