We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Health Nurse Supervisor to join our team at Public Health Dayton & Montgomery County. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for directing, evaluating, and coordinating the delivery of services in multiple program areas, as well as supervising nursing staff and other staff members assigned to the Immunization Clinic.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and manage nursing staff and other staff members assigned to the Immunization Clinic, providing guidance and counseling as needed.
- Plan, direct, evaluate, and coordinate the overall delivery of services provided in multiple public health programs, including grant applications and program development.
- Assist in the completion of grant applications and provide support for program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provide direct nursing care as a PH Nurse or as a PH Health Nurse Specialist, including client case management and follow-up care.
- Document all information according to medical records standards and act as a resource for clients, making referrals to other staff and agencies as needed.
- Assure policies and procedures are followed, interpret and implement new regulations, and keep abreast of regulatory changes as necessary.
- Prepare reports, collect data, and ensure quality of assigned program areas, documenting data and generating reports manually or electronically as required.
- Participate on agency and community organization committees, represent the agency at meetings, conferences, and Health Fairs, and develop/participate in training sessions/in-service.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing with valid licensure from the State of Ohio.
- Three (3) years' experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Two (2) years' supervisory and management experience.
- Understanding and acknowledgement of Public Health - Dayton & Montgomery County's use of evidence-based and evidence-informed public health practices.
- Understanding and acknowledgement of the use of tobacco or nicotine products in any form, including replacement therapy products and prescription medications used to treat smoking addiction.
- Ability to play an active role during a public health emergency, crisis, outbreak, incident, or event, and completion of Incident Command System 100 and National Incident Management System 700 courses within 90 days of hire.
- Valid State of Ohio driver's license and insurance on any personal vehicle that will be used for work.
- Master's degree in Nursing with a valid licensure from the State of Ohio.
- CPR Certification.
- Supervisory Public Health Nurse Certification.
- Immunization Clinic experience.
- Grant Writing experience.
