Key Responsibilities

This role is pivotal in supporting the Headquarters, Pacific Air Forces (HQ PACAF) by orchestrating, executing, and overseeing recovery operations for exercises and events conducted with allied nations across the Indo-Pacific region. The primary work environment is in Hawaii and at various training locations both within the continental United States and overseas.

Core Duties Include:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of PACAF PLANORD exercises throughout the entire "Joint Exercise Life Cycle" (JELC), from initial concept development to execution and after-action review.
  • Develop, implement, and document each exercise or engagement effectively.
  • Organize and manage assigned exercises, including estimating costs and funding within the designated budget.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination with various offices and stakeholders involved in the exercise.
  • Establish the purpose, objectives, and participant lists for planning meetings and conferences while coordinating logistical support for exercises and events.
  • Evaluate and document the effectiveness of exercise planning functions as part of the after-action reporting process.
  • Maintain awareness of current and projected PACAF force structure, roles, responsibilities, and capabilities, addressing any contingency issues that may arise during the JELC.
  • Engage with participating units, Wings, and MAJCOM staff and leadership to ensure seamless collaboration.
Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background as a Military Officer.
  • Bachelor's Degree; a Master's Degree is preferred.

Required Qualifications:

  • Possess a TOP SECRET / Special Compartment Indoctrination Clearance.
  • Eligibility for SAP/STO and ACCM.
  • Recent military experience within the last 5-10 years.
  • Experience in military logistics and operations.
  • Familiarity with Air Operations Center and/or MAJCOM/NAF Staff.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in planning USAF MAJCOM-level or equivalent exercises.
  • At least 3 years' experience in aviation-related roles (Pilot/Navigator/Air Battle Manager/Air Crew Member) involving planning or conducting Field Training Exercises (FTXs), Command Post Exercises (CPXs), Staff Exercises (STAFF-EX), or Table-Top Exercises (TTX).
  • Knowledge of historical inter-country relationships and specific customs and courtesies.
  • Understanding of operational/logistical support requirements for exercises, deployments, and mobilizations.
  • Familiarity with the PACAF force structure.
  • Working knowledge of USINDOPACOM/PACOM Theater Campaign Plan (TCP) and PACAF Strategy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, demonstrating leadership and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in liaising with national-level agencies, DoD, Services, Combatant Commands, and Intelligence Agencies.
  • Proficient in current Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES) and/or Deliberate and Crisis Action Planning and Execution Segments (DCAPES).
  • Operational and/or logistical experience in the Asia-Pacific Theater.
  • Familiarity with financial documentation and the Manpower MPA Man-day Management System (M4S).
  • Knowledge of standard funding documents (MIPRs and CAMs).
  • Experience with the Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS).
  • Understanding of Global Security Cooperation Management Information System (G-TSCMIS) requirements and capabilities.
  • Experience in planning and executing CPXs and FTXs within the INDOPACOM AOR.
