Position: Fleet Operations Manager and Safety Director

Compensation: $95k plus based on experience
Role Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute strategies aimed at significantly minimizing violations and accidents through various initiatives, including regular communications, training sessions, and vehicle adjustments.
- Prioritize enhancing road safety, promoting environmental sustainability, and utilizing technology to boost efficiency while reducing operational costs.
- Attract and retain top-tier drivers through a comprehensive screening and interview process.
- Build trust and respect with drivers while addressing their concerns through firsthand experience.
- Utilize insights from drivers to modify compensation structures and safety protocols as necessary.
- Establish maintenance schedules and driver education programs.
- Conduct cost evaluations comparing in-house repairs and maintenance to external services.
- Analyze costs to determine the optimal time for equipment repair or disposal.
- Foster a safety-oriented culture among both drivers and office personnel.
- Oversee and enhance Hours of Service (HoS), FMCSA compliance scores, safety assessments, and DOT audits.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years in safety, compliance, and maintenance management.
- Demonstrated success in managing a fleet of over 150 vehicles.
- Experience in over-the-road driving and possession of a CDL License is advantageous.
- Proven ability to manage drivers, oversee vehicle maintenance and procurement, and ensure adherence to safety regulations.
- Experience in developing maintenance programs and ongoing driver training initiatives is preferred.
