Restaurant General Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant General Manager to lead our team at The Tryst Trading Company. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, including managing guest expectations, leading a team of managers and staff, and ensuring compliance with company standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and oversee all daily restaurant operations
  • Manage guest expectations and relations
  • Manage a team of managers and staff
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and policies
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements
  • Run floor shifts as the Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed
  • Evaluate and ensure adequate staffing levels
  • Work with HR to recruit and hire excellent candidates
  • Oversee and direct training
  • Evaluate and address employee performance and productivity
  • Monitor and address quality controls
  • Oversee product costs and inventories
  • Oversee cash handling & financial controls
  • Oversee facilities, maintenance, safety and equipment issues
  • Perform administrative and reporting functions
  • Perform bi-weekly timecard reviews for payroll
  • Perform financial analysis and budget functions
  • Work with Dir of Ops to improve business processes
  • Work with Dir of Ops to improve revenues and operating costs
  • Work with the Dir of Ops to develop and implement growth strategies
  • Perform and/or assist with projects and other duties as needed

Qualifications:
  • 1+ years Management Experience in a full-service restaurant or
  • 2+ years Managerial Experience in a cafe-service restaurant
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Excellent people management and listening skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive by nature
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Proficiency in use of POS system (Knowledge of Toast and Restaurant365 a big plus)
  • Proficient in Spanish (written and oral) would be amazing, but not required
  • Food Handler & ABRA license
  • Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and some holidays
  • Must be on call for emergencies
