Compensation:
This position adheres to the City of Denver Prevailing Wage Law. The base rate is $33.36/hr, with potential variations based on job responsibilities.

General Overview:

Oversee the coordination of event service requirements for clients. Manage maintenance projects alongside shift engineers. Provide both technical and physical assistance to shift engineers. Conduct spot checks on preventive maintenance tasks to ensure compliance with industry standards. Perform regular building operator duties as necessary, including during coverage for paid time off. Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure cleanliness in work areas.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in the maintenance and repair of mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, as well as facility finishes.
- Ensure HVAC and mechanical systems meet safety and code standards.
- Support the HVAC and energy management systems of the facilities.
- Provide essential utility services, including compressed air, water, and drainage.
- Regularly perform spot checks on preventive maintenance to confirm proper servicing of building equipment.
- Aid in resolving standard technical issues.
- Keep an inventory of all engineering tools and supplies.
- Recommend necessary equipment and materials to the Chief Facilities Engineer and implement approved purchases.
- Promote and ensure safety in the workplace.
- Assist in the preparation and review of Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and Job Safety Analyses (JSA) for departmental tasks.
- Fill in as Engineer during scheduled time off.
- Lead efforts to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct audits of normal maintenance shift preventive maintenance tasks, identifying deficiencies and suggesting improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED; some college coursework preferred.
- Two to four years of experience in a facilities engineering role.

Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and interpersonal abilities across all levels of staff and clientele.
- Proficiency in reading, understanding, and speaking standard English.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and as part of a team.
- Capability to perform leadership tasks effectively under tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Commitment to providing professional customer service.
- Proven record of dependability and reliability.
- Experience in customer service is required.

Computer Skills:
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to create documents and spreadsheets.
- Familiarity with computer-based operating and energy management systems.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid and applicable Stationary Engineer license.
- Valid universal CFC license.
- Valid Class C Colorado Driver's License.
