Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 annually, with a comprehensive benefits package including 401k matching, fully covered health, dental, and vision premiums; paid time off, holiday compensation, and parental leave.
About Colorado Village Collaborative (CVC)Colorado Village Collaborative (CVC) is a nonprofit organization committed to offering innovative alternative shelter solutions and supportive services for individuals facing unsheltered homelessness in the Denver area. CVC operates multiple sites that provide safe, individualized, and dignified shelter options for approximately 200 program participants. Our approach is centered on low-barrier access to shelter and services, addressing the gaps that hinder individuals from utilizing traditional shelters. We are a secular organization that welcomes individuals with partners and pets, providing 24/7 access and adhering to evidence-based harm reduction practices. Our work is guided by person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed service models, ensuring that all community members are treated with respect and dignity. Our staff operates in a diverse and collaborative environment that values lived experience and inclusivity.
Position SummaryCVC is in search of a dedicated and experienced Facilities and Safety Manager to oversee the operational, maintenance, and safety aspects of our various sites, including tiny homes, safe outdoor spaces, and our office facility. The Facilities and Safety Manager will ensure the safety, cleanliness, functionality, and maintenance of our facilities while managing a team of maintenance personnel and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities- Facilities Management
- Oversee daily maintenance and upkeep of our program sites, including Tiny Home Villages and Safe Outdoor Camping spaces.
- Manage maintenance and upkeep of CVC's office facilities.
- Ensure that all sites and offices maintain conditions that support the health and well-being of staff and program participants.
- Address maintenance requests promptly.
- Conduct regular facility inspections to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
- Coordinate and prioritize repairs and improvements to maintain safety and functionality.
- Manage relationships with contractors and vendors for maintenance services.
- Establish systems for tracking maintenance requests and work orders.
- Safety and Compliance
- Ensure adherence to all relevant health and safety regulations, including fire and building codes.
- Schedule regular inspections and visits with local authorities.
- Collaborate with CVC staff to develop and implement safety protocols for all stakeholders.
- Conduct safety inspections and drills to mitigate risks.
- Work with local authorities and emergency services to address safety concerns.
- Develop proactive measures for extreme weather events.
- Team Development
- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of maintenance staff.
- Provide ongoing support and professional development for team members.
- Effectively delegate tasks to ensure efficient operations.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Coordinate with volunteers and city staff as necessary.
- Strategic Planning
- Assist leadership in planning for site relocations or new openings.
- Identify opportunities for new systems and processes to enhance efficiency.
- Contribute to the development of new projects.
- Budget Oversight
- Assist in the development of the annual budget for facilities operations.
- Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving measures.
- Maintain thorough records and documentation.
- Travel and Physical Requirements
- Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits and supply pickups.
- Work in a mixed environment, including office and outdoor settings.
- Be prepared for physical demands such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Adhere to safety protocols for handling equipment and chemicals.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools for maintenance tasks.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
- 3-5 years of experience in facilities management or a related field, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- Knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facility management software.
