Job Overview

Position: Fire Stopper Foreman

Compensation: Based on experience

Role Summary: The Fire Stopper Foreman is responsible for managing the installation, evaluation, and documentation of various fire-stopping systems in new construction projects. This position demands a thorough understanding of fire-stop UL systems and other necessary requirements to effectively inhibit the spread of fire and smoke through penetrations in walls, floors, and ceilings. The Foreman will direct a team of fire stoppers and insulators, collaborate with other construction professionals, and ensure adherence to all safety regulations and building codes.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and guide a team of fire stoppers in the application of fire-stopping systems.
  • Verify that all fire-stopping implementations align with building regulations, safety protocols, and project guidelines.
  • Conduct inspections and evaluations of work sites to determine necessary fire-stopping solutions.
  • Coordinate with project leaders, contractors, and other trades to guarantee timely and effective project execution.
  • Educate and mentor team members on proper fire-stopping methods and safety measures.
  • Maintain precise records of work completed, materials utilized, and inspections performed.
  • Identify and resolve any challenges or inconsistencies in fire-stopping applications.
  • Ensure that all tools and equipment are properly maintained and utilized safely.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in fire-stopping technologies, techniques, and regulations.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Fire Stopper or in a comparable role within the construction sector.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of fire-stopping techniques, materials, and building codes.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Physically capable of working in diverse environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas.

Educational Background:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred technical training or certification in fire-stopping systems.

Experience Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Firestop UL applications.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or foreman capacity.
