Job Title: Senior Water Resources Business Unit Leader

At Otak, we are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Water Resources Business Unit Leader to oversee our Water and Natural Resources practice in the Puget Sound region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide managerial guidance and leadership to a team of professionals to achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Water and Natural Resources Director and Regional Manager to set market sector goals and objectives in the region.
  • Develop and implement business plans to drive growth and profitability in the Water and Natural Resources practice.
  • Partner with Pursuit Managers and Marketing Managers to prepare winning professional proposals and participate in interview preparation and go/no-go decision meetings.
  • Oversee practice area personnel in the region, including interviewing, hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Provide technical excellence and guidance in water resources planning and design, including basin planning, urban stormwater management, and river/stream restoration.
  • Manage water resources planning and design projects, including workload planning, financial management, and quality control.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of experience in managing large capital projects from design through construction and/or closeout.
  • Professional Engineering License, including Washington State PE License within 6 months of hire.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing personnel, project budgets, and team financials.
  • Experience in reviewing and negotiating agreements and contracts.
  • Customer-oriented seller-doer with ability to sell Otak's services, grow the business, and deliver high-quality work.
