Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, calibrate, and validate hydrologic and hydraulic numerical models to simulate open channel and closed conduit flow, sediment, and water quality parameters.
  • Delineate floodplains and create flood hazard maps to inform decision-making and risk assessment.
  • Design hydraulic structures such as bridges, culverts, levees, and fish passages to ensure safe and efficient water flow.
  • Perform hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality modeling in support of stormwater and CSO facilities planning and design, including collection systems, conveyance, treatment facilities, and outfalls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective solutions that meet client needs and expectations.
Requirements
  • BS or higher degree in civil and environmental engineering or a related field; a graduate degree is preferred.
  • Specialized experience or training in hydrologic analysis, hydraulic design, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, sediment transport, geomorphology, and stream restoration.
  • Strong technical writing background and abilities to prepare written reports and communicate effectively.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to solve problems and work collaboratively on project teams.
  • Proficiency in 1-D, 2-D, and 3-D numerical models for simulating open channel and closed conduit flow, sediment, and water quality parameters.
  • Experience with CFD modeling is a plus.
  • Proficiency in GIS and CAD software programs.
  • Motivation to learn new tools and techniques.
