Cardiac Rhythm Observer

The Monitor Technician is a vital member of the patient care team, responsible for observing, interpreting, and monitoring displayed cardiac rhythms. This role requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, as the Monitor Technician must promptly and accurately report any deviations from baseline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms
- Report deviations from baseline to the Registered Nurse
- Assist in identifying patient problems with Telemetry monitoring
- Record and report data to the Registered Nurse
- Mount monitor strips on documentation flow sheet for review by Registered Nurse
- Assist in identifying supplies and equipment needed for Telemetry monitoring
Requirements:
- 6 months of experience required
- High School Diploma/GED
- Successful completion of a course in EKG interpretation
- Basic Life Support certification
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to detect and differentiate abnormal cardiac rhythms
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clerical experience
- Cardiac monitoring/EKG certificate
