Responsibilities
  • Perform routine clinical tasks, including preparing patients for examinations and assisting healthcare providers during procedures.
  • Complete patient intake, document immunizations, and process orders in our electronic health record system.
  • Assist with visual and audio screenings and document the results.
  • Prepare forms related to patient care and services, and coordinate referrals with referral clerks.
  • Process prior authorizations for medications and prepare and administer vaccines.
  • Complete prescription refills using standing orders and provider instructions.
  • Sterilize and clean instruments, and maintain the sterilization inventory.
  • Educate patients on medication and diet information, and answer questions.
  • Complete records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results.
Requirements
  • Medical Assistant Diploma from an accredited institution.
  • Back Office Experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in an FQHC setting.
  • Knowledge of traditional, cultural, and spiritual practices of diverse communities.
  • Bilingual.
  • Experience with Nextgen or other electronic health record systems.
  • Active certification from a Medical Assistant Certifying Board.
