Electromagnetic Compliance Engineer Position

Cascade Engineering Services seeks an experienced Electromagnetic Compliance (EMC) Test Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the electromagnetic compliance of our high-tech consumer electronic products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform EMC tests required for high-tech consumer electronic products
  • Determine the correct test setup/equipment and measurement methods
  • Ensure that tests are performed correctly
  • Troubleshoot test setup and product EMC issues
  • Capture and analyze test data
  • Create reports and complete necessary regulatory paperwork

Requirements:

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • 2+ years experience as EMC test engineer
  • Working knowledge of RF principles, EMC testing and design, and EMC regulatory requirements
  • Ability to develop EMC test plans, analyze EMC compliance test data, comprehend EMC compliance test specifications/procedures, and interpret regulatory EMC standards for Information Technology equipment (ITE)
  • Experience with VNA, TDR, and high-bandwidth oscilloscope
  • Good knowledge of regulatory EMC compliance process
  • EMC compliance test and mitigation expertise
  • Experience with EMC test equipment
  • Strong cross-functional and collaborative team skills
  • A team orientation with superior interpersonal awareness
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills
  • Good understanding of EMC compliance requirements for ITE (minimum for USA/CA and EU - worldwide a plus)
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple complex projects
  • Excellent problem-solving techniques
  • Strong organization and documentation abilities
  • Ability to effectively define world-class processes in specifications and procedures
Required Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Knowledge of basic statistics as applied to testing and test data analysis
  • Fluent in use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Strong written and verbal communication
