SpaceX RF Systems Engineer

At SpaceX, we are pushing the boundaries of space technology to make humanity a multi-planetary species. We are seeking an experienced Communications System Engineer to join our team.
About the RoleWe are looking for a highly skilled engineer with expertise in radio frequency systems to work on cutting-edge communication systems for our spacecraft and missions to Mars and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop radio frequency systems for our spacecraft, including antennas, transceivers, and modems.
- Collaborate with system architects, RF engineers, antenna engineers, and other teams to ensure seamless integration of communication systems.
- Analyze and characterize system performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement design changes.
- Work with manufacturing engineers to develop and test production-ready radio frequency systems.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in radio frequency systems engineering, with a focus on communication systems.
- Proficiency in using radio-related test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers, vector signal generators, and network analyzers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters of Science or PhD in electrical engineering with emphasis in RF/Microwave circuits or communication theory.
- Experience performing analysis and simulation of communication systems using tools like Matlab, SystemVue, Python, or C++.
- Knowledge of digital communication systems, spread spectrum techniques, modulation types, and electromagnetic propagation.
