Assistant Professor of Transportation and Supply Chain Management

Baltimore City Community College's Business & Technology Department is currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Assistant Professor specializing in Transportation and Supply Chain Management.
This 10-month position requires candidates to possess administrative experience and be capable of instructing courses such as: Introduction to Commercial Transportation, Supply Chain Management, and Maritime/Freight Transportation.
The Assistant Professor will be responsible for teaching 15 credit hours each semester to a diverse group of learners through various modalities, including face-to-face, virtual, and online formats (day or evening). Responsibilities also include maintaining scheduled office hours, developing and revising curriculum, managing course assessments, and participating in college and departmental service activities.
We encourage candidates with demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty and staff to consider this opportunity.
Responsibilities/DutiesTeaching and Instruction:
- Contribute to the college's mission through effective teaching practices.
- Exhibit expertise in subject matter through outstanding content delivery and pedagogy in Transportation and Supply Chain Management courses.
- Provide input for the development of instructional standards and policies within the program.
- Upload current syllabi, readings, and assignments, ensuring timely submission of grades.
- Maintain accurate attendance records.
- Guide students in academic planning and incorporate current instructional technologies into the classroom.
- Offer meaningful feedback to students in a timely manner.
- Hold required office hours for student support.
Service and Professional Development:
- Actively engage in college and departmental meetings.
- Serve on committees within the college and department.
- Participate as a member of the Transportation Supply Chain Management Program Advisory Committee.
- Support student success by advising from enrollment through graduation.
- Stay informed about developments in the fields of Transportation and Supply Chain Management.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Transportation and Supply Chain Management or a related field, with at least 18 graduate credit hours in relevant coursework from an accredited institution.
A minimum of five years of experience as a full-time instructor in higher education, preferably in a community college setting.
Experience in teaching through various formats, including face-to-face, online, and hybrid models.
Familiarity with Canvas or similar learning management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral degree in a Transportation or Supply Chain Management-related field, with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline from an accredited institution.
Five years of administrative experience.
Experience with dual enrollment programs and teaching advanced adolescent students.
A commitment to working with underrepresented populations.
Professional experience in Transportation and Supply Chain Management.
