Job Summary

The Transportation, Storage, and Distribution Manager is a critical role that requires coordination, storage, and distribution of supplies/goods to government entities without guidance. This position oversees the transportation, storage, and distribution team, operating in accordance with the Rapid Operations Material Management Contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates transportation, shipping costs, storage, and distribution activities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable Government laws or regulations.
  • Coordinates and expedites the flow of material and equipment for both shipping and receiving efforts.
  • Supervises the activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing, inventory, packaging, and shipping products and materials.
  • Responsible for warehouse safety and security programs and activities.
  • Inspects physical conditions of warehouses, vehicle fleet, or equipment and orders maintenance, repairs, or replacements.
  • Provides guidance in handling of unusual and non-routine problems.
Supervision

Responsible for the supervision, direction, and performance of a team of up to 30 personnel.

Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or technical equivalent.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Technical equivalent and four years of additional work experience in lieu of a Master's Degree.
  • Minimum of Ten (10) years of experience with at least five (5) years of experience must be in supply chain management.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain HAZMAT Certification.
  • Ability to obtain a DPAS Train the Trainer Certification.
  • Forklift Operator Certificate.
  • Forklift Train the Trainer Certification.
  • Ability to complete DPAS Warehouse Management Training Module.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity of standards in logistics and warehouse operations.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office products to include Microsoft Office, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Must have valid Driver's license, insurance, and maintain military base driving privileges. Obtain military licenses/certification if required.
  • Familiar with current military regulations, policies, and standards.
  • Possesses the ability to work multiple projects/tasks; interface with Government, and US military personnel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and knowledge of Alaska Native cultures.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to talk, including the ability to pass on information via the telephone, and verbally communicate with clients, staff, and other employees, hear and see in order to perform his or her duties in a safe manner, including occasionally driving.

The ability to lift up and move a minimum of 50 lbs., walk, bend, push, pull, and stand is needed to perform all requirements of this position.

Typically will have full dexterity of limbs to feel, reach, sit, kneel, stand, crawl, or climb on small stepladders not to exceed 10 feet.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described in this job description are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.

The work environment can vary from office/warehouse environment to field work outdoors depending on the mission and support required. Field work outdoors will be conducted under various weather conditions.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week. May be required to work beyond a weekly schedule on occasion.
