Job Summary

The Business & Technology Department at Baltimore City Community College is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Assistant Professor of Transportation and Supply Chain Management. This 10-month position requires administrative experience and the ability to provide instruction in courses such as Introduction and Commercial Transportation, Supply Chain Management, Maritime/Freight Transportation, and more. The successful candidate will teach 15 credit hours per semester to a diverse population of learners and will be responsible for developing and revising curriculum, managing course and program assessment of student learning outcomes, and participating in service to the college and the school.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction:
    • Contribute to the college's mission and goals through effective teaching and instruction.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter through exceptional content delivery, pedagogy, and andragogy.
    • Provide input for the development of the Transportation and Supply Chain Management program instruction, standards, and policies.
    • Upload current syllabi, readings, and homework assignments and submit grades on time in Canvas.
    • Maintain attendance records in Banner.
    • Provide guidance to students for academic planning.
    • Incorporate current instructional technologies into the classroom.
    • Provide students with meaningful written and oral feedback in a timely fashion.
    • Hold required office hours.
  • Service and Professional Development:
    • Actively participate in college, school, and program coordinators meetings.
    • Serve on college and school committees.
    • Serve as an active member on the Transportation Supply Chain Management Program Advisory Committee.
    • Contribute to student success by advising students from the point of their initial enrollment through graduation.
    • Stay current with, and contribute to, developments in the various fields and disciplines within Transportation and Supply Chain Management.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Transportation and Supply Chain Management or related field with at least 18 graduate credits hours Transportation or Supply Chain Management course work from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Five years or more of experience as a full-time instructor in a college or university, preferably with community college experience.
  • Experience teaching face-to-face, online, hybrid, and/or blended learning.
  • Experience with Canvas or another learning management system (LMS).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in Transportation or Supply Chain Management related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours of Transportation and Supply Chain Management from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Five years administrative experience.
  • Experience with dual enrollment programs and teaching advanced adolescent students.
  • Commitment to working with underrepresented populations.
  • Transportation and Supply Chain Management professional and teaching experience.
