Insurance Brokerage Account Manager

About the Role
Woodruff Sawyer's Middle Markets practice is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Account Manager to join our team. As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for placing, renewing, and servicing new and existing business. You will act as an ambassador for Woodruff Sawyer, both internally and externally, and will be expected to possess a high degree of technical knowledge and the ability to communicate confidently with clients and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Stay up to date with coverages and market trends affecting assigned book of business, and demonstrate the ability to clearly communicate these details with clients.
- Coordinate with Account Coordinators and Account Executives, and work directly with Producers as needed.
- Create client deliverables, participate in client presentations, and contribute to the strategic planning process.
- Effectively manage multiple clients in accordance with P&C practice service requirements and best practices to sustain client retention.
- Lead the Marketing and/or Renewal process, request information from markets and clients, review documents, develop specifications, and secure quotes.
- Analyze proposals/quotes to negotiate changes and/or make recommendations to clients.
- Participate in the delivery of strategic overviews on accounts, requesting information from markets and clients, and reviewing documents pertaining to client needs.
- Demonstrate the ability to build positive relationships with clients, carriers, and team members.
- Responsible for timely policy review and delivery, and manage contract review, explaining and clarifying details with clients verbally and/or in writing.
- Demonstrate the ability to market and cross-sell additional lines of coverage, involving team members when faced with challenging issues or to showcase additional Woodruff Sawyer capabilities.
Requirements
- College degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and shift focus as priorities change.
- Required to obtain applicable insurance licenses within 90 days of hire.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Ability to travel as necessary.
What We Offer
Woodruff Sawyer offers a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $126,000, depending on geography, experience, and expertise. This position is eligible to participate in an incentive program to earn additional compensation, with a target equivalent to 8% of salary annually, based on individual and company performance.
We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) retirement plan with company match, ownership in the company through our ESOP, and paid vacation, holidays, and sick days.
