Role Overview

In partnership with the Visual Manager, a Display Coordinator is tasked with crafting an emotionally resonant atmosphere through visual creativity. This role encompasses the design, construction, and installation of both visual and structural displays that align with seasonal themes, both indoors and outdoors.

To be eligible for this position, candidates must provide a portfolio or examples showcasing their artistic work.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement
  • Works collaboratively with the leadership team to nurture Terrain's core values: to welcome, to inspire, to inform, and to appreciate our clientele.
  • Collaborates with the visual team to develop an engaging visual narrative that resonates with customers and reflects contemporary home décor and gardening trends.
  • Enhances customer interaction through display initiatives on the sales floor; fosters community connections by supporting displays for workshops and events.
Leadership and Team Development
  • Guides the team by imparting visual expectations, operational standards, and effective management of materials and tools.
  • Participates in store meetings by sharing creative insights, innovative ideas, and relevant brand visual information with the team.
  • Takes proactive steps in each project to enhance display expertise and elevate craftsmanship; aids in identifying and training future display talent.
Visual and Business Operations
  • Engages in the display planning process by sharing inspiration, generating ideas, and sketching; prioritizes projects and monitors timelines while adhering to the visual budget.
  • Implements seasonal guidance and inspiration from the Home Office to address the unique requirements of the store; establishes signage and fixtures that maintain presentation standards.
  • Manages and sustains plant life for all interior and exterior displays; emphasizes cleanliness and organization of all display areas to ensure safety for customers and employees.
  • Boosts sales and profitability through impactful designs that focus on products; contributes to loss prevention efforts by ensuring all merchandise used for displays is properly managed and accounted for.
Communication and Relationship Building
  • Fosters an inclusive work atmosphere by actively listening to others and valuing diverse perspectives.
  • Establishes and maintains constructive partnerships with team members, contributing to a culture of effective communication and teamwork; remains open and responsive to feedback.
  • Regularly checks in with leadership to ensure alignment and teamwork in achieving store objectives; demonstrates flexibility by adjusting priorities as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Passionate about the Terrain brand.
  • Artistic background with experience or interest in horticulture, woodworking, and container planting.
  • Capability to create and install both two-dimensional and three-dimensional works.
  • High level of craftsmanship with a solid understanding of power tools.
  • Availability for early morning weekday shifts.

Compensation

Starting at USD $24.00 per hour.
