Flight Training Coordination Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of this role is to manage the organization, scheduling, and execution of pilot training requirements, alongside the allocation of training resources, both physical and human.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To excel in this position, the individual must effectively fulfill each key responsibility. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
- Supervises the organization of all initial, upgrade, and recurrent training sessions in alignment with the Pilot Collective Bargaining Agreement and relevant Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs).
- Ensures that all necessary training resources are available for pilots and Instructor/Evaluators.
- Forecasts future requirements for training resources, both physical and human.
- Ensures compliance with TSA FTSP for all training involving non-US citizens.
- Manages and maintains a comprehensive schedule for the Flight Training Coordination Team.
- Ensures that the group's processes are consistent with departmental policies and procedures, with documentation maintained in the group's guide.
- Leads the Training Coordination team by providing coaching, leadership, direction, motivation, and supervision to direct reports.
- Evaluates, identifies, and implements enhancements to the efficiency of initial, upgrade, and recurrent training programs.
- Reviews Flight Safety billing and invoices for accuracy and completeness.
- Monitors and analyzes simulator and flight training device reliability.
- Utilizes the Training Management System (TMS) to optimize pilot training schedules.
- Ensures that training cycle times are achieved in accordance with current company objectives.
- Promotes the Company's core values and culture within the work environment.
- Conducts screening, interviews, and makes recommendations for the hiring of potential employees.
- Assesses performance, provides feedback, takes corrective actions, and oversees the training and development of staff.
- Completes special projects or additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform this job.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the airline industry.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in the Microsoft 365 suite.
- Experience in complex resource scheduling.
- Proven ability to mentor and guide personnel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Experience in an Advanced Qualification Program (AQP).
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, training manuals, company publications, union contracts, and memos.
Ability to write professional correspondence, primarily through electronic communication, with clarity and cohesion.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings, and communicate effectively to understand issues and implement solutions.
REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to execute written or oral instructions. Capable of addressing problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to determine optimal methods for problem-solving by consulting company manuals, labor contract language, precedents, and policies.
DECISION MAKING
Responsible for daily decisions regarding resource utilization. Makes limited decisions and determines the best methods for problem resolution by referring to established precedents and policies. The impact of decisions is moderate.
