Conflicts Analyst Job Description

The Phoenix Group is seeking a highly skilled Conflicts Analyst to join our team. As a Conflicts Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of conflict clearance checks for new hires and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough conflict clearance checks for experienced hires, including associates, summer associates, and firm-wide staff, to identify potential conflicts of interest.
  • Interface with Legal Recruiting to verify prior work history and ensure new hire forms are thoroughly completed.
  • Review resumes and forms, following up with Legal Recruiting as necessary to obtain additional information.
  • Identify potential conflict concerns regarding new clients and employees and provide a concise summary of analysis and findings to Conflicts Attorneys.
  • Verify that all searching is complete, consistent, and accurate, and that all Firm conflicts procedures have been followed.
  • Collaborate with the Legal Recruiting team, attorneys, and administrators to resolve conflict concerns and provide status updates.
  • Prepare and finalize documents for new hire orientation.
  • Conduct an initial review of the intake form to ensure compliance with Firm internal policies and procedures.
  • Perform formal conflicts searches using standard Boolean logic and corporate research, escalating hits to Conflicts Attorneys as needed.
  • Review engagement letters to ensure accuracy regarding parties, rates, standard language, and format.
  • Confirm the accuracy of client/matter information recorded in the Firm's central records.
  • Maintain electronic client matter records, including attorney allocation changes.
  • Provide support to Firm personnel by answering questions on the intake process.
  • Complete special administrative projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work timely and accurately.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong people, communication, and multitasking skills, with a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • An approach that demonstrates ownership, flexibility, creativity, initiative, tenacity, and a positive attitude.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in conflicts, with IntApp and Aderant experience preferred.
