Job Title: Medical Administrative Assistant

Derick Dermatology PLLC is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Administrative Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Administrative Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the healthcare professionals at our practice by providing comprehensive administrative and patient support services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with billing and coding activities, including evaluating medical record documentation and collecting, importing, posting, and managing insurance and patient payments.
  • Support scheduling and contact center activities, including answering inbound calls to schedule appointments and collecting and documenting patient medical history.
  • Act as a liaison between providers and patients to support ongoing care, including providing pathology and laboratory results, completing medical records requests, and processing prescription refill requests.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent - healthcare specific training preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Empathy and a caring attitude towards patients.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to US HIPAA laws and other relevant regulations.
Work Environment:

This is a remote part-time position up to 20 hours per week. The shifts are scheduled in 4-hour increments during the week. You will be provided with the necessary equipment for your work-from-home environment, including a secure laptop, monitor, headset, and webcam.
