Position Summary:

The Buyer will oversee all facets of materials management for designated commodities. Responsibilities include placing orders, managing lead times, resolving exceptions, and addressing invoice discrepancies utilizing the appropriate MRP/ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production while optimizing turnover rates.
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of assigned commodities and their respective supplier networks.
  • Develop proficiency in necessary MRP/ERP systems.
  • Propose and implement process enhancements to improve operational efficiency.
  • Commit to working the necessary hours to meet project timelines.
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues to ensure effective interdepartmental coordination and shared objectives.

Education and Experience:

Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of five years in procurement.

Preferred: Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems, purchasing processes, and bills of materials. Experience with Oracle is advantageous.
