HR Specialist for Veterinary Services

This role requires adaptability, a comfort with evolving situations, and the ability to excel in a high-energy setting. The HR Generalist will primarily work weekdays, with the possibility of weekend duties or events as necessary. Occasional off-hour support may be required for our night shift team. The HR professional will take on the following responsibilities:
- Providing guidance on company policies and procedures to both employees and management.
- Staying informed on federal and state employment laws and compliance standards.
- Managing employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions and workplace investigations.
- Monitoring employee morale and fostering a positive company culture.
- Developing and overseeing talent management processes.
- Collaborating with the broader HR team to create effective recruitment strategies.
- Facilitating new employee onboarding and orientation programs.
- Assisting with benefits inquiries and open enrollment processes.
- Conducting exit interviews and analyzing data to identify trends.
- Creating and disseminating internal communications regarding policy changes, benefits, or employee status updates.
- Maintaining accurate employee records.
- Performing other HR-related tasks as assigned.
- Proven expertise in the human resources field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal employment regulations.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and compliance.
- Understanding of employee records management and compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in employee relations.
- 2-5 years of experience in recruitment.
- Experience with HRMS/HRIS systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook).
- PHR or SPHR certification is preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
