About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Architect to join our Buildings team in Norfolk, VA. As a Senior Architect, you will play a key role in supporting our Federal and Military clients, working on a wide range of projects from planning to small renovations to large multi-building projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define project elements and processes, coordinate estimates, and manage bid preparations to meet client needs.
  • Ensure contract performance by planning and monitoring work orders with engineering, construction, and other disciplines.
  • Plan and develop moderately complex architectural projects impacting major company programs, exploring scope and novel methods.
  • Support projects from concept to completion, coordinating with project management, architects, and leadership on technical solutions.
  • Review junior staff work for accuracy, provide guidance, and perform quality control reviews, inspections, and field observations.
  • Maintain licensure and professional registration; stay updated on building codes, zoning laws, fire regulations, and other ordinances.
Requirements
  • A degree in architecture from an NAAB accredited program or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years of experience, including working on parts of major projects or multiple, moderate-sized projects, providing technical guidance to entry/junior-level staff, reviewing others' work for technical accuracy, and participating in the design and implementation of new products, processes, standards, and/or operational plans that had great impact on the achievement of functional results.
  • An active license in good standing and demonstration of knowledge of state and local building codes, zoning laws, fire regulations, and other relevant ordinances.
  • Proficiency in production software and construction document production.
  • A passion for formulating and solving problems with timely and innovative solutions.
  • A proven ability to successfully address challenging issues in a sound professional and business-like manner.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, team members, and other key stakeholders.
